A tribute to René Daumal’s novel. A group of singular and expert mountaineers, convinced of the existence—somewhere in the world—of a mountain whose peak is higher than all others, one day decides to set out in search of it and attempt to climb it. After a "non-Euclidean" navigation aboard a vessel named The Impossible, the explorers land on the island-continent of the Analogous Mountain, where they find a population descended from people of all eras, living solely in the hope of scaling the summit. After a brief stay in the village of Monkey Port, the mountaineers begin their ascent and reach the first base camp. Here, the story abruptly stops. (Einaudi)
